Another thing to watch out for :) is > 80 (or 78) column lines.  I won't
criticize you for this, though, because the code you were patching
already had a > 80 column line.

Damian Conway recommends:

(setq fill-column 78)
(setq auto-fill-mode t)

And I agree. :)

Oh, and also, the Industry Standard Sig-separator is "-- ", that is,
dash dash space newline.
