I use plugins for display bussiness rules. For each field that needs  
a special formating need in terms of display, I use a [% field |  
filter %]

The filter assures the proper formatting.

It works pretty well, and my models and controllers don't need to  
bother with something that is more view-related.

I wonder if there is a better way though.
