Using Scalar::Defer with Storable doesn't quite work yet.  I briefly tried a
few work-arounds and didn't come up with anything better than "undeferring"
everything before freezing, which sort of defeats the purpose.

(This issue tends to come up when a deferred value ends up in the session.)
