I have to confess although I tried -very- hard, testing every single  
IDE or text
editor there is on the mac, I came to pretty much the same  
conclusion :( Using
Vim with perl-support,Snippets and cvs/vcs plugins, iTerm and various  
ssh tunnels
& rsync tools. 1) None of the tools I tried (and keep trying)  
exhibits the
same sort of power. 2) they all exhibit a serious flaw sooner or  
later which makes
me drop them (and yes, vim7 can look as nice as TextMate on the mac).
