Hi Alexander, thanks for your kind words and it's good to know some Catalyst
projects are happening.
The Perl community in Ukraine and Russia seems to be growing well and they
filled all the conference places.
Kyiv is a beautiful city and it was a good break. I hope to return next year
and speak more on Catalyst.
I rented an apartment together with Jonathon Worthington, who spoke on Perl
6 and parallelism, and a Ukrainian perl programmer.
We had a fine time meeting the Kiev.pm and Moscow.pm perlmongers and going
out socialising.
I think Andrew Shitov is planning a first event in Belorus next!

Some conference write ups, pics and a video clip here:

Full video of talks should be online at some point.

By the way, several of the Russian perl programmers commented on the lack of
Perl books available in Russian. They say it is quite a barrier to Russian
speaking people trying to learn Perl and/or Catalyst.
They asked if Jonathon Rockway's book
http://www.packtpub.com/catalyst-perl-web-application/book
was available online and I said not.
I got the impression they wanted to run it through the Google
English-Russian translator?
Jonathon - any thoughts on that?

Best wishes,
Peter
