Are you using DBIx::Class, right? So, note that DBIC is a separate project and has its own ML (http://lists.scsys.co.uk/mailman/listinfo/dbix-class/).
But, answering your question...read dbic docs and then ask for help again (in dbic's ML) pointing where docs were not clear and what you didn't understand:
