Mark Overmeer is a little bit mad but extremely competent; his code is
likely to be more anal about things being set explicitly but it will also
be obsessively correct and looks like it's actively maintained.
He's also the author of the rather excellent Mail::Box which is probably
a good choice for mail parsing etc. (Mail::Message and friends in that
dist).
I've never heard of conteb so have no opinion about his code.
