Perl is a fundamental and foundational language for so many things,
and it's current image is not an accurate portrayal of the language
both in terms of culture and capabilities. Creating a new organization
that centers itself around building the best tools in the industry,
with perl and under an open source license, will bring about an
enlightenment in programming in all industries. Perl helped build the
applications that made the Internet what it is, and the third
renaissance will need the power of Perl to build the next generation
of rich Internet-centered applications.
