Hey all,
So it was some time ago that Penfold originally badgered about this and
I have to say I haven't paid much attention to it in the past two months
for various reasons. That being passed let's talk about grants again.
The only way I can currently see this working is:
1. The person/organisation wanting a grant applies in writing (email is
fine) to me/secretary/director outlining their proposal and expected need;
2. The secretary starts to make a file containing all relevant
information to this application/grant payment/progress;
3. The Directors vote on the proposal;
4. A member of the organisation (from the ordinary members) is appointed
to oversee that the work is done. They work with the secretary to make
sure all documents (emails-IRC chats etc.) are collated into the same
location for audit purposes;
5. A cheque is made out to the person/organisation with a receipt for
them to sign/return (audit purposes once more);
6a. The work is done, approved and signed off and all are happy;
or
6b. The person fails to do what they said and the Directors request the
Secretary to conduct an investigation with the possible raising of a
remittance request for all/part of the grant (we should have this in
place but I suspect we would never need it)
That seems to be the most logical route to me, let me know your
thoughts. For now we can get the ball rolling if people wish to by
accepting grant requests (the sooner the better I think), so if anyone
knows someone, lets get them talking to us so we can move this forward.
Regards
Mark
