Is this on Handel::Scaffold from 0.20? I did try it on my FreeBSD 5.4 
and didn't have any issues with file creation.

Just for giggles, do you have Path::Class/File::Find::Rule installed? 
What versions?

The strange part is that the cart/orders/checkout directories are 
created within their respective controllers. I'm not sure how files 
would be created, but the controller classes themselves wouldn't be created.

While I'm at it, what version of Catalyst do you have installed?
