I thought of a structure like this:

    elements:
       - type: Text
         name: forename
       - type: Text
         name: surname
       - type: Hidden
         name: fullname
         filters:
            - type: Join
              fields: [forename, surname]
              join_by: " "

and if fullname is a column in the dbic model it'll be saved.

bad idea?
