You can style the link to not show underlines, or you can use an image link with whatever you want in it...

"I see!" said the blind man! The link would allow focus on that cell
because a user can Tab to it (just one way).

I will see what I can do. I hope it doesn't make things look ugly.
Links show as underlines in most browsers.
