I agree, though I would not want to demand masterpieces before linking
to them.

I agree that the pages should contain more data though I am not sure how
much standardization we need or can have there. After all there are languages
for which there are many perl users (e.g. Russian), and I am sure
there are other
languages (e.g. Turkish) where the number of users who are already community
aware is really small. For the smaller languages (in terms of Perl
users) especially
where there is no Perl community activity yet, I'd be glad if the few
people put
their contact info there just so they can invite others in their
language to contact
them to create a small community. They should not need to know English for this!

My idea with these pages was two-fold.
1) provide a mini-portal for Perl in the given language pointing at
resources in that lannguage
2) provide an overview - in English - of what kind of things does the
perl community in
    that language has.

As it is not location specific but language specific (e.g. Portuguese
is spoken at least in two countries)
and I don't want to drive anyone to an English web site - after all my
assumption is that those people
who really need this know very little English - I am not sure how good
it is to point them to www.pm.org

Let me try to write down a set of suggestions for the language pages:

Each page should have two parts, one in the designated non-English
language the other in English.

non-English
==========
The non-English part should have a few words explaining what kind of
Perl resource are there in
the given language and explain about the Perl community in the given
language and in the countries
where that language is spoken or written. If there is already a
central website for all things perl
in the given language then probably there is no point in duplication
this information here so the page
on the TPF wiki could contain only a link to that page.
On the other hand if the resource in the given language are not
collected in one place yet then
this could be the right page to do that.
In that case there should be links to several types of pages:
    * Localized documentation (translation of perldoc or home made
documentations)
    * Tutorials
    * Localized Perl Community: Forums, Mailing list, IRC channels in
the specific languages
    * Perl Monger groups are already listed on http://www.pm.org/ but
you can also list them here.
    * Books published in the specific language.

English
=========
The English part of the page should be similar but the aim is more to
help the rest of us,
not speaking your language to have a little understanding what's going
on there that might
give us ideas to our communities as well.

your comments please!
