After I offered to work on the tutorial I totally ran out of tuits (need 
to get some of those wooden ones...) but I should have some time in the 
next several weeks, so I'd love to work on this with you.

I haven't got very far yet, and intended to do pretty much the same that 
you are. Start with a basic FormBuilder example because I think it makes 
what's happening more understandable, and then offer a selection of form 
processing  options including FormFu. Updating the auth example is 
obviously a very high priority. And switch away from using yaml for 
config (though that should probably be coordinated with a change to the 
way the default application is set up).
