yes, these are planned.. What they will do is implicitly
authenticate the user at prepare time.

I don't really know how NTLM authentication persists after the first
sign on (3 requests btw - how will this be handled?).

Basic, on the other hand, is simple and has been contributed by Uwe
in this thread. I'm adding it now =)
