[Catalyst] Is it normal to have lots of trouble installing catalyst?

I've heard there are debian packages of catalyst
floating around somewhere.  I found a project for this
at "http://alioth.debian.org/projects/pkg-catalyst/"
but I don't know if anyone has used this with success.

Anyone use that with a debian version of linux?
