[Catalyst] Is it normal to have lots of trouble installing catalyst?

Keeping a log would be nearly impossible I think :)

I'm glad I am not the only one. I think the advocacy
for this project should really reflect this
installation issue. To be honest I get really
frustrated when I see that the catalyst homepage
claims to support all these OS's and it implies
installation is a breeze and then I spend days feeling
like I must be doing something really wrong. I
understand that the competition with Ruby on Rails and
others probably drives these decisions. Plus I know
that the people who are developing this stuff are way
more smart that I am and maybe for them installing
catalyst is easy.

I Think this problem will be really really hard to
solve. Because there are so many dependencies it
would be a huge task to figure it all out (or a really
smart Perl programmer that really understood CPAN and
the module installation process.)

I'd like to hear from people about the tricks they
used to get Catalyst installed on their servers.
Maybe this could for the kernal of a FAQ.
