The *user* here is the dev guy, I would assume that writing an application 
using this thing will involve writing some sort of install scripts anyway, 
the alternative is making the user run a whole heap of things, one for 
dbic, one for search tools, one for.. I dunno, all the pieces.

Also I'm a bit surprised at this moaning, you know the drill.. If someone 
alerady wanted these, they'd be written by now, so I guess you're the only 
one that felt this way so far.. go do something about it.
