[Xml-compile] Format of return from call()

Suppose I have a SOAP method foo, defined in some WSDL. I’ve already compiled the call. When I do

  my ($res, $trace) = $soap->call(‘foo’, parameters => $params);

Is it guaranteed that $res will always be a hashref or undef?
